ASTM Host Simulator is a testing and validation tool that emulates a laboratory information system (LIS) using the ASTM communication standards commonly employed by clinical analyzers. It helps instrument manufacturers, integrators, and laboratory IT teams verify connectivity, message formatting, and workflow behavior without requiring a live LIS.

Key capabilities:

• Emulates host-side communication per ASTM E1381/E1394, including session control (ENQ/ACK/NAK/EOT), frame sequencing, and checksums.
• Builds, sends, receives, and parses ASTM records (H, P, O, R, C, L) with configurable delimiters and field rules.
• Supports serial (e.g., RS‑232) and TCP/IP connections with adjustable parameters such as baud rate, parity, port, timeouts, and retry policies.
• Provides detailed logging and diagnostics (ASCII/hex traces, timestamps, frame- and record-level views) with exportable logs for troubleshooting.
• Simulates realistic workflows: create and transmit orders, receive and validate results, and exercise bidirectional exchanges.
